Steve’s Real Food Turducken Recipe is an 80/15/5 B.A.R.F formulation, providing your dog with the balanced diet nature intended. We combine premium raw ingredients into convenient, scoop-and-serve nuggets that make it easy to feed fresh food as a meal, topper, treat, or on-the-go raw. When feeding as a complete meal, simply rehydrate with water and serve!

  • 80% free-range poultry, organ and bone
  • 15% locally-sourced, non-GMO, pesticide-free produce
  • 5% natural superfoods and essential nutrients

Consider our Turducken raw recipe for the following reasons:

  • Diverse Protein Sources: Turducken combines three different poultry meats, providing a variety of protein sources. This variety can help prevent dietary monotony and reduce the risk of food allergies or sensitivities that can develop with a single protein source.
  • Triple Omega-3 Richness: The combination of turkey, duck, and chicken provides a triple dose of Omega-3 fatty acids to support your pet’s skin, coat, and joint health.
  • Gentle on the Digestive System: Many pets find the blend of poultry meats in Turducken easy to digest, making it a gentle choice for sensitive stomachs.
  • Convenient Bite-Sized Nuggets: Nuggets are shaped into tater-tot-sized pieces that are easy to scoop and excellent at quickly rehydrating.

Ingredient Sourcing: Our turkey comes from a family farm in California. The turkeys roam freely, are given enrichment activities, and are raised on a non-GMO, biologically appropriate diet. Our chickens come from an eight generation family farm in Washington and Oregon that introduced “No Antibiotics Ever Chicken.” The farm raises free-range chickens and is Non-GMO Project verified. Our delicious red-meat duck hails from Maple Leaf Farms, providing top-quality White Pekin Duck to America’s finest chefs. The ducks are free to roam in a cage-free environment and are never given growth hormones or antibiotics. They have access to climate-controlled barns to protect them during the cold Indiana winters. When the ducks are harvested, the farm attempts to utilize every part of the animal so nothing goes to waste. The feathers are sent to make pillows and blankets, and the meat gets added to our tasty pet food. The produce is sourced from the Pacific Northwest, and our goat milk comes from a family farm in Gaston, Oregon. Steve’s Real Food is committed to working with family farms that share our belief in sustainable farming free from added hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides. Learn more about our ingredients.

Feeding Guidelines

If you are transitioning to raw, we suggest transitioning over a 1–2 week period. Check out our transitioning guide here for more information and tips for switching over your pets.

  • Scoop: Use a measuring cup to scoop your pet’s portion for the meal and place the food in a clean dish.
  • Rehydrate: Add ¾ cup of warm water for every 1 cup of food. Stir to ensure even hydration. Let the liquid absorb into the food for 5–10 minutes.
  • Serve: Once the freeze-dried food has rehydrated and reached the desired texture, usually a porridge-like consistency, serve it to your pet in a clean food dish.

How Much to Feed: Each four-legged friend will metabolize food differently based on their activity level, breed, age, etc. Use our feeding calculator as a starting point for your pet, and adjust the feeding amount as necessary to help your pet achieve an ideal body weight.

Food Storage Instructions: Keep the bag sealed and away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid storing freeze-dried pet food in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations, such as garages or sheds. Freeze-dried food is sensitive to moisture. Ensure the storage area has low humidity levels to prevent the food from becoming soggy or molding. While freeze-dried dog food has a longer shelf life than other pet foods, it’s essential to use it within a reasonable timeframe. Follow the “best by” or “use by” date on the packaging as a guideline.

Safe Handling Raw Pet Food: Treat raw pet food with the same care as handling raw meat for your consumption. Always wash your hands, pet bowls, and any surfaces that come into contact with the raw food.
